Shawn Byrns is an associate in the firm’s Property Law Group. As a member of the firm’s first-party property litigation team, Shawn focuses his practice on insurance coverage disputes and subrogation issues.
Shawn assists with the firm’s Civil Rights Practice Group. He helps to guide clients through the process of protecting their constitutional rights when they have been falsely arrested, maliciously prosecuted, or charged criminally under false pretenses. Shawn is a zealous advocate who has experience in State and Federal Court protecting the rights and freedoms of those who have had their civil rights unjustifiably violated.
Prior to attending law school, Shawn spent over a year teaching English in Australia and Thailand. Upon his return, Shawn received his J.D. from Vermont Law School. While in law school, Shawn spent time working with the Sports Law Institute where he focused his work on concussion legislation and the growing concern for regulatory action in youth sports.
Shawn is a native of Western New York, growing up in West Seneca before receiving an undergraduate degree in Adolescence Education from the State University of New York at Fredonia.
