Jim O’Connor is an associate in the labor and employment practice group and regularly helps businesses navigate the complex world of state and federal employment laws and regulations.  Jim has litigated employment matters through all stages of litigation, in a variety of forums, including state and federal courts, the New York State Division of Human Rights, New York City Division of Human Rights, Merit Systems Protection Board, and EEOC. 

His practice focuses on employment law, business law and litigation, environmental law, and construction law.

Prior to joining Rupp Baase, Jim practiced law at an international full-service law firm and a litigation boutique firm in Manhattan.  Prior to joining private practice, he gained experience clerking for a federal trial judge and a New York State Court of Appeals Justice.  While in law school, Jim was the Senior Notes & Comments Editor for the Hofstra Law Review and earned the Excellence in Contracts Award.
